Prayer Requests
Our color group leaders went around today to see what areas we can ask you guys to pray about. Here are the results:
General prayer request – energy/stamina. Also, pray that the students would open up more.
Specific request
- Aaron – not sleeping well
- Pat – requesting prayer for student – “Bill” – states that he has no friends
- Victoria – requesting prayer for “Dick” that he would have more confidence in using his English in class
- Steve Erkens – discernment
- Claudia – Pray for one of the students named Cat. She’s a Christian and wants her mom to become a Christian. Cat also wants us to pray for her friends who aren’t Christians. She wants her friends to become Christians too.
- Sandy – We’ve prepared months for this and this is the final 3 days. Pray for God’s perfect will to be done.
- Becca – (Green 3) Pray for a boy named Joseph who “cannot stand being here.” His mom forced him to come. Pray for his heart to be softened.
- Ariel – Pray that we’d continue to be strong and healthy.
- Tony – Pray for Johnny and David. They’re probably about 15 or 16 years old in Green 1. Pray for their salvation. That they’d pay attention and their hearts would soften.
- We’re all in agreement that many folks on the team seem to be wearing down. Please pray for our games/exercise guys as the last two days have been very hot and they’re outside pretty much all day.

My name is Maddie and I am 14 years old. I came to America 2 1/2 years ago. I used to live in Ethiopia in Africa. My father died of HIV and my mother has HIV and is dying. I have two sisters and one brother. My mom wanted us to have a better life and sent us to orphanage. I had prayed to God when I lived in our village in Ethiopia to know who He was and He answered my prayers. When my new family was ready to adopt us we were sent to the capital city of Addis Ababa. The nannies at the care center shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with me and I became a Christian. It was the greatest gift I ever had. I then prayed for a strong Christian family. God has blessed me with parents who love Him and brothers and sisters who love God as well. I want Jesus to be the center of my life always. I am grateful to be with all my family and I pray that other kids like me - parents with HIV - will also find a Christian home. I desire to be a nurse so one day I can help my people by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ before they die.
